A Church on Mission.

“Here at Overlake 10% of our annual budget goes out the door to support local and global partnerships as well as empowering YOU to live missionally in your everyday lives.”

Four Areas of Missional Focus at Overlake

Gospel (Fighting Spiritual Inequity)

We believe that God cares for nations and desires that every person have the opportunity to grow in relationship with Jesus and experience His transforming love. There are currently 3.19 billion people in this world still without access to a Bible, a believer or body of Christ and only 3% of the Christian workers are working in these areas. We will continue to equip and send workers to the hard places, translate scripture, and strengthen local leadership to help establish healthy, loving communities of Christ followers among the unreached.

Areas of focus:

  • Bible translation

  • Equipping national leadership

  • Mobilization of workers

  • Church planting

  • Evangelism & Discipleship

Homes (Advocating for the Displaced)

We believe God cares for the displaced and desires that every person have a safe place to call home. Whether it’s a person without a home in our backyard, a child living on the streets in Kenya, a foster child or one of the 71 million people who are currently displaced worldwide due to violence, oppression or religious persecution. We will continue to provide care, support, and resources to help children, adults and families heal, stabilize, and thrive in safe homes both here locally and around the world.

Areas of focus:

  • Foster Children

  • Street Children

  • Unhoused populations

  • Refugees & Immigrants

Freedom (Empowering Freedom)

We believe God cares for those in trapped in slavery, in exploitation, and in other forms of oppression and desires that every person be free to live into a life of flourishing and purpose as He intended.  Whether that is a women exploited in the sex industry in Thailand, a child immobilized by a disability in Morocco, or someone fighting addiction here in America, the Lord sees them all. We are committed to come alongside, advocate for, and offer resources to women, men, and children both here locally and around the world facing such circumstances.

Areas of Focus:

  • Exploitation

  • Slavery

  • People with Disabilities

  • Recovery

Peacemaking (Pursuing Reconciliation)

We believe that God cares about reconciliation and desires that every person be reconciled to Him and to one another. We are all created equally in God’s image and therefore we are interconnected regardless of our differences (race, gender, social/economic status, political stance etc.).  As a church, we are committed to the hard work of bridge building, of racial justice, of building equitable systems, of restoration, and of advocating for non-violent conflict resolutions. We choose to follow the path of Jesus as we engage with curiosity in difficult conversations and pursue peacemaking both here at home and abroad.

  • Nonviolence Advocacy

  • Racial Equity

  • Personal Reconciliation

  • Restorative Work
